Fast Stone™ Cement Dry Blends Powered by Qwix™

The Fast Stone™ family of cement dry blends has been specially formulated to respond to the precaster's need for faster setting hydraulic cement mixes and lightweight cast parts.

Fast Stone™ blends start with Lehigh white Portland cement and Qwix™ in various ratios depending on specific processing or demolding criteria. Portland/Qwix™ ratios can be adjusted to reduce normal Portland cement demold times from overnight to a few hours using regular production techniques or as little as 30 minutes when using the Rimcraft continuous mixer.

The first two blends to be marketed are Fast Stone™ and Fast Stone™ LT, neither of which contains AR fibers.

Fast Stone™ is formulated to be mixed with various combinations of sand, pigments, Forton VF-774, water, plasticizer and AR fibers to achieve the producer's desired results. In a production environment of 70°F, you should expect demolds in the 1-2 hour range.

Fast Stone™ LT contains lightweight aggregates (no sand) that when mixed with pigments, Forton VF-774, water, plasticizer and AR fibers will give castings in the 75-77 pcf range while maintaining demold times of 1-2 hours.

Fast Stone™ dry blends can be custom formulated to include Cem-FIL Anti-Crak HP 12mm alkali resistant fiber, pigments and sand, or a combination of lightweight aggregates to meet individual producer's production needs.

Recommended Water to Cement Ratios (W/C ratio) per bag are:

Fast Stone™	50lb. bag	.30 to .34
Fast Stone™ LT	40lb. bag	.34 to .38

Note: the W/C ratio and plant temperature will influence the set times and the demold times of the Fast Stone mixes. The higher the W/C ratio and the cooler the plant temperature, the longer the set times and demold times.

Plasticizer: Adva from W. R. Grace or Glenium from Degussa Admixtures, Inc. are suggested.

Example: the above Fast Stone™ mix with a .30 W/C ratio and plant temperature of 70°F or above, will demold in 1 hour.
