The Fast Stone® family of cement dry blends has been specially formulated by Ball Consulting, Ltd., to respond to the precaster's need for faster setting hydraulic cement mixes and lightweight cast parts.
The Fast Stone® Cement blends are comprised of Portland cement and Qwix™ in various ratios depending on specific processing or demolding criteria. The Portland/Qwix™ ratios reduce normal Portland cement demold times from overnight to a few hours using regular production techniques or as little as 30 minutes for certain formulas when using the RimCaster Continuous Mixer.
The Fast Stone® line, available in gray or white, is formulated to be mixed with various combinations of sand, pigments, Forton VF-774, water, plasticizer and AR fibers to achieve the producer's desired results.
The Fast Stone® LT line, also available in gray or white, contains lightweight aggregates and sand that when mixed with pigments, Forton VF-774, water, plasticizer and AR fibers will give castings in the 65-75 pound per cubic foot range, while maintaining short demold times.
Fast Stone® C (no sand) and CS (with sand) are specially formulated for the GFRC countertop industry. Fast Stone C formulas are available in white or gray and incorporate state-of-the-art GFRC mix designs, using type I Portland cement, Qwix™ and VCAS 160, a white pozzolan for improved strength, density and surface finish.

Note: the W/C ratio and plant temperature will influence the set times and the demold times of the Fast Stone mixes. The higher the W/C ratio and the cooler the plant temperature, the longer the set times and demold times.
